* $800,000 was moved from Direct Assistance, $633,448.37 from Contingency and $301,551.64 from Lost Wages to cover increased spending needs for Home Repairs and the associated contractor Administration costs for those services. $316,358 was shifted from Contingency to Business Loss to cover higher than anticipated costs. The Board of Supervisors provided authority to the County Executive Officer to make funding adjustments between funding categories as necessary to meet applicants demands. On 02/18/2025, $38,753.21 was shifted from Lost Wages to Business Loss to cover higher than anticipated costs. $300,000.00 was transferred to Housing Repair to cover costs associated with Home Repair Permits. The Board of Supervisors provided authority to the County Executive Officer to make funding adjustments between funding categories as necessary to meet applicants demands.

** Funds issued to date include direct reimbursements, approved reimbursements and new work that has been scoped for construction.

*** Funds may be redistributed based on program requirements to meet community needs.

As of July 31, 2024, all letters for Direct Assistance (housing expenses, personal property loss, food reimbursement, and vehicle reimbursement) have been sent. If you applied for Direct Assistance and have not received a letter, please contact (209) 354-2556 or planada20m@countyofmerced.com to request the letter to be resent.

Any requests for reviews/appeals of a Direct Assistance application must be received within 30 days of the action taken. This means that any requests to review/appeal a Direct Assistance application must be received by the County no later than August 30, 2024.

To Ask For A Review:
  • Fill out the back of your notice with the action you’re disputing.
  • Make a copy of the front and back of that page for your records. If you ask, someone from the County will make a copy for you.

Beginning September 1, 2024, no additional documentation related to Direct Assistance will be accepted as all Direct Assistance applications will be considered complete.

This does NOT apply to Home Repairs, Business Loss, and/or Lost Wages submissions as those portions of the Planada 20M program will have their own timelines.

Direct Assistance has completed review of all Priority 1 cases, and everyone identified as Priority 1 should have received a notice in the mail. Priority 2 requests are now being reviewed and we anticipate notices being received within the next two weeks, with Priority 3 following.

If you were a Priority 1 application and have not received a letter from the Planada 20M program, please reach out to (209) 356-2554 or Planada20M@countyofmerced.com. As a reminder for anyone in Priority 2 or 3, if you have a change in your phone number or mailing address, please advise the Planada 20M team as soon as possible.
